If you want a flat stomach, you’ve got to do a lot of ab exercises.
… Well, that’s what most people believe.
But just because people believe it, does that actually make it true?
(In fact, not very often.)
Since I’m a personal trainer, many of my girl friends ask me “Angeline, tell me what ab exercises should I do to tone my belly?” At the same time they even jiggle their rather wobbly belly at me!
Every time they ask that, I say “Abs exercises are not the main thing. You’ve got to exercise your whole body to get a flat stomach. And don’t forget your diet. You’ve got to eat properly.” They nod and make some agreeable noises (wolfing down their beefburger and then a big chocolate cake washed down with a huge cup of latte). And I come away thinking maybe I’ve enlightened these girls.
But how wrong can a person be?!
They ask me the same question again whenever we meet up. They don’t get it, do they? Either they’re really not serious about losing their belly fat or I’m a rather bad communicator. I don’t know.
But I’m getting so annoyed with women putting their faith in myths that I thought I should write a book, finally revealing the truth about how to achieve a flat stomach. I’m getting to feel more and more that it’s my duty to educate these misinformed people. If I wrote my book, then I could float about feeling like I’m the new Mother Teresa – saving the world from a surfeit of fat-bellied women!
But you know what? Somebody else has already done it for me.
To my delight and dismay (since I won’t be able to strut around feeling like the saviour of the world), a highly experienced personal trainer called Mike Geary has come up with a very comprehensive book explaining how you can successfully achieve a flat stomach.
Since he’s already doing a good job of educating the “misinformed” population, I won’t bother writing my own book about getting a flat ab. No need to re-invent the wheel, is there?
So from now on, if you want to know once and for all how to get a sexy flat stomach, read Mike Geary’s book. The book is called (surprise, surprise!) The Truth About Six Pack Abs.
Everything you need to know about how to get a strong core and a flat stomach is in there.
Even if you think you already know how to get a flat stomach, you simply must read this book.
What’s it got that’s so special?
Little Known Ab Exercise Techniques That Even Experienced Exercisers Don’t Know About
For example, Mike points out which ab exercises are best performed with your back hunched.
Hunching your back while doing an exercise??
You’d think that’d be a massive no-no, wouldn’t you? But not so. You actually need to hunch your back when you do certain ab exercises. Otherwise, you risk injury and you won’t work your stomach muscles effectively.
A List Of Dangerous Ab Exercises You May Be Innocently Doing
He also lists the most effective abs exercises. The best part is that he also points out the least effective – and even downright dangerous – abs exercises. I think that’s hugely important information, since some of those dangerous exercises are among the most common ab exercises women tend to do.
I myself used to do those exercises in my previous naïve fitness life. I wish I’d known about Mike’s book then. What a waste of time and effort!
You’ll completely avoid that mistake if you read Mike’s book.
Ab Workout Plans For Beginners to Advanced Exercisers
You’ll also get ab workout plans. There are ab workout plans for different levels of fitness so that you can choose the most appropriate level for you. No need to feel out of place just because you’re a beginner.
Even Little Known Diet Facts Most Health Conscious People Don’t Know About
Another thing you’ll get is that Mike talks a lot about diet since getting it right is critical to achieving a flat stomach.
You might not think you need diet guidance. You might think that it’s as simple as eating healthy. Eat natural food. Avoid processed food etc.
The thing is that Mike actually goes far beyond that “eat natural food, avoid processed food” mantra that all fitness experts seem to reiterate.
He points the finger at several foods that health conscious people often believe to be healthy.
One particularly interesting thing for me was that he talks about some compounds in food that cause very stubborn belly fat. You know the kind of belly fat that won’t budge no matter what you do, right?
I still have a little pudgy bit on my stomach. So, that piece of information really caught my attention.
Those compounds are called estrogenic compounds. And Mike shows you which sorts of food contain more of those compounds. So, if you have some very stubborn stomach fat, that’s very useful information to have at your fingertips.
Over 70 Meal Plans You Can Use
To help you with planning your meals, Mike also lists lots of meal plan ideas. Something like 72 of them. So, you should be able to use at least a few of them.
Mike’s Incredibly Useful Bonuses
Unlike most other product creators who give away useless bonuses just to make their product seem more attractive, Mike gives away a number of very useful bonuses. I can’t remember how many. One of the main things I actually got interested in was a 4-week bodyweight and dumbbell exercise program. I also liked the metabolic calculator where you can calculate roughly how many calories a day you need for losing fat.
If you workout mainly at home, I think you’ll find the 4 week exercise program very useful.
Mind you, the exercise plans in the Truth About Abs book are also very useful. OK, they’re actually geared towards using a gym. But Mike does show you how you can adapt each exercise for working out at home. So, you should be able to do most of the exercises in his book.
What about the few exercises you may not be able to do because you don’t go to the gym? Don’t worry about them. Missing them out won’t stop you getting fitter or your stomach getting flatter.
At the very least, you’ll be able to use the 4 week bodyweight and dumbbell program Mike gives away as a bonus for buying his book.
The Most Effective Exercises That Get You In Shape The Quickest
Another great thing about this book is that Mike shows you specific exercises that give you the most “bang for your buck”. Great if you care about getting the maximum benefit for your effort and time.
Clear Photo Demonstrations Of All Exercises
All exercises have detailed instructions, and are illustrated with clear photos. So, you’ll know exactly how to perform them.
Mind you, they’re not the clearest instructions I’ve ever seen. Come to think of it, I just happen to know a very good women’s website that does much better! (Guess whose? :P) But I think, with the photos, you should be able to make sense of what you’re supposed to do in each exercise.
Full Body Workout Plans For Different Fitness Levels
There are also a lot of full body workout plans you can work with. They’re listed for different levels of fitness.
If you’re a beginner, you can start with just a bodyweight workout plan. Mike recommends that you at least invest in a set of dumbbells and a swiss ball as you get fitter. But you also need a bar to hang from. For that, you can either buy a pull up bar or find something around the house you can safely hang your whole body weight from.
Of course … like everything else, this product isn’t perfect …
At the time I bought the book, (I don’t know if it’ll be the same when you buy it) they were giving away far too many bonuses. Yes … I know … but it’s actually a bad thing because you can easily get overwhelmed. I felt bewildered when I was bombarded with so many different products.
In the end, I had to ignore most of them to keep my focus on the main thing I bought, which is the Truth About Abs digital book.
So, it’s important you read the book without letting yourself get sidetracked with so many add-on products.
They do contain great information which will be very useful to you. But I think you need to absorb one thing at a time. Otherwise, you won’t learn anything.
So, I recommend you focus on the main book “Truth About Abs” first. Only after you’ve used the information there, check out other bonus materials.
As I mentioned before, the book is geared towards gym users. If you’re a home exerciser, you might find it a slight disappointment. But with a few tweaks I’m sure you can use most of the exercises Mike shows you. You’ll at least need a set of dumbbells and a swiss ball to do that.
So, that means you’ll at least need to spend a little money on these two pieces of equipment.
The book seems to be targeted at men users and particularly towards building a six pack abs. But, as Mike assures you again and again in the book, it’ll also work effectively for women. That’s because the exercises women should do are the same as those that men should do. In fact, I found out that about 60% of Truth About Abs users are women.
So, as a woman, you don’t necessarily have to build towards a six pack abs. But if you use the information in the book, you’ll definitely flatten your tummy.
But overall, if you want a flat stomach or even a six pack abs, this is the only book you need.
If you want to invest in just one book in your life for getting a flat stomach, make it this one. I’m sure you’ll find it money well invested in yourself.
